Born in Elgersburg, RENÉ DECKER fast getting succesful as saxophonist, composer, musical director, producer & university lecturer of the Jazz Institute Berlin.
RENÉ has shaped a new quality of sound with his intimite personal tone and etablished a new signature in the international music landscape.
RENÉ has always been fascinated by the grand emotions conveyed from playing saxophone, he wanted to capture his audiences in a passionately and unique way. Playing with artists like DON GRUSIN (3 times grammy award winner), MANFRED KRUG and in the same breath with bands like Lemmy Kilmister of MOTÖRHEAD, MELISSA ETHERIDGE or the WEATHER GIRLS.
Since 1981 RENÉ became one of the youngest and most succesfull saxophonists at the time of the old GDR. He played in more than 29 countries spread all over the world.
(At 1987 he was pushed to start working as a producer and composer. The success did not take long in coming and soon he produced the first major broadcasts for german TV. His clients include MDR, ARD, ZDF, PRO7, SWF, BR, Sat1, RTL and many more.)
RENÉ reached at the same time a variety of branches that were spread wider and farther for him. So it happened that he was asked if he could also create compositions for film music as well as for major advertising companies like:
